Why can't I keep this up?

Okay so I pretty much suck at being a blogger, it's been what, a week since I have started this blog and have a total of one entry. Well I only have one reader that I know of so I guess it's not that huge of a deal. In health related news, which is what this blog is about, this week has been fantastic. Well starting yesterday and going into today ;) I ran (okay fastly walked) on the treadmill for half an hour yesterday and ate pretty healthfully if I do say so myself. Didn't have any sweets and I did not eat after 6pm except for a cup of blueberries (plain). Today, I attempted to do a Jillian Michaels DVD called No More Trouble Zones, got about half way through it and almost died. I could not even feel anything except the intense fiery burn in my thighs from all the squats she was having me do. Unfortunately I had to turn it off half way through, hey it was intense! Hopefully I can work myself up to doing the entire thing at one time. I ate pretty healthy today, but had a couple cookies too ;) Tomorrow we are going to a memorial service for my great grandma who passed away back in November. Following that we will be meeting with that half of our family who are coming up from S. Carolina for a family picnic at a park. Oh, and did I mention that tomorrow it is supposed to be 105 degrees???? I don't even like 70 degrees and can not stand heat at all, this is going to be miserable.... We don't even like this side of the family! Oh and they pre ordered subs without even consulting with us, there is going to be a major issue if there is not a veg sub there!! Well I promise I'll blog about the exciting events of tomorrow. Ta ta for now! :)

First Blog :)

I never pictured myself being a blogger. I don't really like to talk about myself, pretty self conscious and would much rather observe someone else. So I guess the whole point of this blog is to crack my shell a little, put myself out there and not have so many walls built up around me. Let me start off by telling you a little about myself. My name is Alexa and I am 19 years old. I'm in the middle of my college career and still continuing everyday to find the right career for myself, but that's a whole story in and of itself for another time. I work in retail and pretty much hate it, I love the people I work with but the company is ridiculous. I'm a vegetarian (hopefully one day vegan) and have been for about 6 months now, absolutely love it (will write a whole blog about it later). I'm an overweight health nut. I know I know, how can that be? Well I am constantly researching and educating myself about healthy foods, nutrition, getting fit, excercise, etc. I love learning about how foods affect your body and learning about great excercises. I read all the articles and magazines and follow all the healthy people on twitter. I'm using this blog to inspire myself (and hopefully others) to live a more conscious and healthy life. To think about what I/you are putting into our bodies. To be accountable to excercise and making healthy choices. Everyday I resolve to do these things and after a couple days I always seem to fail. Maybe blogging and communicating with others who are feeling this way or are attempting to also change their lives to more healthful living will help me to stay on track. That's pretty much me and what this blog is about. Anything and everything but mostly about health and fitness.

I'm not sure exactly how all this works, how people even come across a blog that's not written by anyone famous or interesting, but if anyone happens acrossed this blog I hope you enjoy reading it and feel free to leave inspiring comments :)
